Rhinoscopy is most commonly performed after imaging of the nasal cavity using a CT scan. A CT scan is vital for obtain detailed images of the nasal passageways, sinuses and ear canals. After performing a CT scan, if indicated, a scope can be used to evaluate the nose and nasopharynx. Foreign bodies can be removed, cultures and biopsies are taken as needed.
